Keeping the city safe & livable
To expand and strengthen our business safety office, I would support appointing a small-business safety coordinator to serve as a direct contact for business owners, coordinate with police and code enforcement, and help businesses respond faster to safety concerns. Part of our appeal and charm in Coral Springs are our over 6,000 small businesses... If we fail to protect them, we’ll lose them.
Fixing Traffic & Growth
Every road project should also be a safety project. I will push for a citywide safety and connectivity plan that fills sidewalk gaps, builds shared-use paths where appropriate, and upgrades dangerous intersections and roadway segments near schools, parks, and commercial areas. We should pair every roadway project with a pedestrian and bicycle safety review so the city stops missing opportunities when roads are repaved or redesigned. We can improve crossings with better lighting, striping, and curb ramps.
Maintaining Our Standard of Living
The Governor’s proposed elimination of property tax would leave Coral Springs with a $44 million gap in our budget. It's up to the commission to ensure the city is prepared to maintain the quality of services, while not placing a financial burden on residents.
